The Birthday Recap
Wow. Another birthday has come and gone and 29 was truly one I won’t forget. I kicked off my birthday celebration just over a week ago today and what a week it was!
We started the festivities in Palm Springs with a sold-out show at the famed Purple Room. We even added seats! It was quite the thing.
It wasn’t my first time at the venue, however. I had dropped in as a guest of Dave Damiani and his orchestra a few months ago and was delighted to return to play my full set in the legendary room! Boy, did we have fun!
I executed my first mid-song costume change, played some of my favorite songs, and even had a chance to blow out my candles onstage! Purple Room owner Michael Holmes was sweet enough to surprise me with one of the most beautiful cakes I’d ever seen. He’s such a sweetheart!
Back in LA, we continued the party with an amazing brunch at the best little Mexican restaurant in WeHo, Gracias Madre.
I caught up with a few of my closest girlfriends while we dined on a few of my vegan favorites (like jackfruit tacos and flautas, yum!) It was such a special little group and I was so happy to see so many new friendships begin because of it.
Throughout the week I’ve been lucky to have had a chance to see so many of the people I never get to see enough of.
Later in the week, I capped off the week with a trip to a Drag Brunch hosted by Rockwell Table and Stage and a trip to the Museum of Selfies.
We got a little silly.
American Gothic, Brunch Edition.
Somebody's had their Van Gogh Gogh Juice.
I'm so grateful all of the wonderful people that I know and had a chance to spend time with this last week. I think 29 is going to be the best year yet.
More Soon,
